Turning avi into a DVD

I was wondering if anybody new a way to turn an .avi file into a dvd file. I know the quality will be terible, but I still want to do it. The file can be played by quicktime, so I tried to just copy it into IDVD3, but it said invalid format. I have the full version of quicktime, But I don't know what to convert the avi into to get idvd to read it. Any help would be apriciated.

You should look into getting the MPEG-2 Plug in for QuickTime. It should help you convert your AVI into MPEG-2 for burning to DVD.

I'm sorry, but I gave the wrong info. The QuickTime plug-in allows you to play back and make MPEG-2, but not AVI.

This product is commercial, but claims to convert to AVI:

Otherwise, check out versiontracker.com for freeware and shareware products available.
