I had my wikey installed a few days ago and have had no problems with it so far (have a Pal wii and have only played Pal games), my question is can i still update firmware via the internet or do i need to use game disc for them to avoid bricking? Im currently at 3.1E. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

no you need to do the opposite of what you said to avoid bricking. If you live in a PAL region then make sure that you update via the internet and NOT on a gamedisc just in case you get a NTSC disc.
