could you put the toshiba A3 hd dvd drive in a PC

it has some wierd looking connections on it and I wondered if it was possible to get some kind of adaptor and be able to run it from my pc either internally or externally...is it possible??????

I highly doubt it. If your talking about the HD-A3 then no, you cannot as it is a stand-alone HD DVD player just like a regular DVD player.

However, if your talking about the drive that is built-in to the Toshiba laptop then its probably possible but I don't know how, or why, you would do it.

There are bare Toshiba HD DVD ROM drives available on ebay that are the same ones used in the xbox 360 HD DVD unit and possibly the standalones. You have to find a way to marry their strange connector to whatever you have in your PC. In Vista the drivers are already there. In XP you'd have to download and load the drivers. It'd be easier to just buy the xbox 360 drive and use it as an external. Works fine that way.
