assuming your card is sony, seeing that they are the only ones with high speed, is it a real memory stick?

go to the xmb menu, highlight memory stick, and press triangle. information will appear on the right side. press x, and it will show the memory card info.

capacity: ...
space left: ...
magicgate: ...

does magicgate say supported or is it blank/unknown? if it's supported, then it's a real memory stick. anything else means it's a fake memory stick.

since the memory card is ruled out, it's the iso speed. in the xmb, press select to bring up the vsh menu. highlight the cpu clock game, and switch to 300 or 333. 300 is fine, but if the game still lags, switch to 333. but 333 will drain the battery faster. once switched, exit and retry the iso again.

you can also reformat the memory stick on the computer. before you do, copy everything to the computer first.

once done, on the computer, go to start menu -> run -> cmd. a dos prompt box will appear. type in "format (memory stick letter): /fs:fat". it will ask you if you are sure, type "y". then it will ask to use 64k cluster, again type "y". once it's done formatting, copy everything back to the memory stick.

using the format method i posted formats the memory card in a different way. i learned to format that way due to crisis core lagging on my 4gig. it decreased loading times by half.

if you can't bring up the vsh menu, then it's not enabled in the recovery menu.

to get to recovery menu, turn off the psp fully. then turn it on while holding the r trigger. you will then boot to the recovery menu. go to configuration, and set use vshmenu to enabled. go back to the menu and then choose cpu speed. change the umd/iso speed by pressing x. stop when you see it set to 300. exit to the recovery menu, and then exit the recovery menu.
