I've been trying to install a few programs lately, and noticed that whenever I install any kind of program that has to do with monitoring hardware, starting up these programs would cause my computer to freeze instantly. A few programs I have tried include SpeedFan, nTune, ATITools, even 3dMark05.

All these programs have caused my computer to freeze the moment I run them. Any program that is defaulted to run when Windows XP starts causes my comp to freeze during login, at the blue welcome screen after putting in my password. That includes SpeedFan and nTune. The only way to fix this is by running System Restore. And as you can imagine, it's super annoying :).

Would appreciate any kind of help, thanks!
