I've taken a look around the site, and even searched for the information that I am seeking before making this post. (I love the tutorial on how to search by the way... funny and helpful! haha.)
What I'm wondering is if there's a way to copy an already burnt Wii game. I have the backup and I would like to make another copy of it, do I need the LG drive for this as well?

My DVD drive isn't reading the game backup, but I was under the impression that I don't need the LG drive to be able to copy a backup.

I know that by using IMGBURN I can change the mode to "build" and then switch back to "write" to make the copy, but if the dvd drive wont read it, I can't build it.

Thanks for the help!

im pretty sure if it's like an xbox iso game you can still copy it as many times as you want. As long as its on the correct disc.

I've always had the same problem.
I can burn the iso's with imgburn but once burnt Windows does not recognize the discs.

I imagine you have to do a bit copy, I did intend to play around with cloneCD or similar but never got round to it.
I have noticed that if I mount the disc on a virtual drive I can access it and see the boot files etc.

So nobody knows if this is possible?

If the burnt wii games wont read once I put them into my dvd drive, then I imagine that it's not a problem with reading the type of media, but rather a problem with reading the information on the disc... which leads me to believe that I will need one of the LG drives.

Is there anyway around this?

Use Image burn. go to the menu bar and select mode:read. this will allow you to rip to an iso. then switch to mode:write. select and burn your iso. if its not an original disk then it will rip fine without an LG drive.

so if this is possible, then what could be causing my game backups to not read in my dvd drive on my computer?
Thkey're not original discs, but they still wont read.
thanks!

Burnt Wii games won't show up like a regular DVD or any other burned disc in Windows. However, ImgBurn will recognize the disc as being a competed burned image when you go to read disc. Copy the ISO to your hard drive from there. That's the only way.
