If I had a backup of any game that was NOT prepatched or stealth patched, can I still play that game OFFLINE without getting banned? In other words, if I'm signed into XBL will I still get banned even though I am playing offline?

Or is the best way to NOT sign into XBL when playing a game that is not prepatched?

your best bet is to make sure that ALL your games are stealth patched. Online or offline. There is no way to tell if anything is being transmitted to MS about what you play offline, but if you have a connection hooked up at any time then it is possible it is collecting and transmitting data.

@johncchc
thats not what im asking...

@steimy
thats what i meant... Even though a game is NOT stealth patched, it is still possible to transmit data even though I am playing OFFLINE, AND NOT signed into Xbox Live

So if I wanted to play a game NOT stealth patched the best way would be to UNPLUG my connection, that way nothing is sent or recieved

Who is to say that it doesnt keep a log of that offline data and transmit when you jack back into live? Too risky if you ask me. I was careless with my first 360 and it got banned for playing non properly stealthed games. Dont risk it.

Can some one please help me. I am trying to flash my 360 and I am using SATA PCI controller card I have the correct drivers installed for it, When I do get the drive into B mode and I restart my computer it freezes at the splash screen . The screen is real faded and it will not do any thing. I tried the eject method while it is loading that dose not work. if I unplug the SATA cable windows will load fine. I also tried unplugging the calbe and loading windows and then plugging the cable in but it still freezes. I have spent many hours and I just want to put it back together. Thanks in advance.

I will try that . This is a pain the first one I used was 64 bit windows and you cant use that . The next one will not get through the splash screen. I hope third time is the charm.

Ok here is where I am at . I got past the windows boot screen and into windows where it shows my drive . My drive is in B mode and I have Extreme 1.2 flash. I think it is the 8 in one flash. When I run it works half way and then just stops. It creates file then dumps but does nothing after that . Now I know it said it would make a file with 5 files in it . Mine only has 4 files. I thought it might have worked but when I put a disc in it did not work. I cannot confirm the backup is good either. But I know the flash did not say complete or finished or anything like that .

Which is exactly what i meant by my above post. If you EVER plug up the cord, and by chance it does still record stuff on the console itself about the discs you play, then it is possible that it would transmit the next time you plugged the ethernet cord back in to play on live.

Easy answer:

If you value live dont even open up the console.

For example Microsof might even look at error logs to see if people have launched the 360 without a drive connected.
