I'm new to video capture and with the amount of info available I don't know where to begin.

I'm looking to start with a low budget with my first project being an xbox game.

The xbox, surround sound and TV are about 20 feet from the desktop.

I assume I will capture the video from the TV output and I will need to splitters somewhere on the surround sound. I will need a 20 foot USB cable to the desk top to capture the video and sound.

Any suggestions on the most cost effective hardware and software? for example can XP's move make be used for software? Would it be wise to use a 20 foot USB or do I need to get the distance down
