YO GUYS, can you explain to me what popstation/popsloader is?

I have some PSX games on my 3.52m33-4 psp, and i don't have popstation or popsloader, but the games work fine, what do these programs do? make it faster or something? and do i really need it?

ok pop stasion as i understand is the name of the psx emulater thats from sony it self pop loader is like a firmware for psp emulater that tells the psx emulater that ur running another version of firmware than u are hope that helps.
