Windows Media Player 11 & iTunes 7: Can they play well together ??

I'm currently using both WindowsMedia11 and iTunes7, though WinMedia is the default app for most digital audio tasks as I'm much more acclamated to it. In fact the only reason I use iTunes is that I've been pushed into it via an iPhone. For most tasks however, I use Windows Media Player...it's my library organizer and tag editor and I keep things organized and simple by keeping my entire music collection on one external drive. Things tend to get confused and convoluted (especially tags) when iTunes comes into play however. Is there an MP3 tagging program that is cross-platform compatible with both Windows Media and iTunes so that the tag edits I make on a music file will be made in iTunes and WinMedia? Or do you guys have any suggestions that would help me better manage my music collection (library) between the two programs...perhaps I'm just not thinking this through correctly. One more element to the madness by the way...I use Xilisoft DVD Audio Ripper to rip audio files from my DVD collection and all of those files need to be tagged individually (or they just show up as "unknown artist" in my library). Help save my mind, --Roy
