Alrite, sorry for being newbish.

For starters, hi, i'm really new to this pspscene and i've tried to read up as much as possible but there are just a few questions i'd like to clear up before attempting to downgrade my psp.

I just got a psp slim, brand new right out of the box and I have my friends fat psp with 3.5m33. I downloaded the pandora's box gui installer found here.

This is my take on the process, please correct me if im wrong:

Part I)

1. Stick ms into a slot on my pc.
2. Run the pandora's box gui.
3. Stick the now modified ms into the fat psp.
4. Insert my battery into the fat psp.
5. Run battery creator on the ms.
6. Save the eeprom of the battery. (saves to ms0:/eeprom.bin)
7. Rerun the battery creator.
8. Convert the battery.

Take a break, half the work is done

Part II)

(edit thanks to cee43ja1)

you put the memory stick first, and then the battery. depending on which memory stick you created, you will either have to blind install or you will have a menu screen.

1. Insert magic ms in the psp slim w/ neither battery nor ac power.
2. Take the jigkick/pandora's battery and insert into psp slim
3. Boot up the psp.
4. Nothing will show up on the screen so Press X to install M33
5. when orange led stops blinking shutdown the psp.

restoring battery
1. load up psp on ac power
2. insert magic ms and battery
3. run battery creator
4. Press L+R to restore the ms0:/eeprom.bin to battery

is that about right? should i be able to run iso's and everything now on my psp slim? have i made any mistakes in these steps?
anyones help is much appreciated.

thanks again,
and please feel free to flame me for being stupid

on your part 2, you don't use the charger to start it. you put the memory stick first, and then the battery. depending on which memory stick you created, you will either have to blind install or you will have a menu screen.

once you put the battery in, the psp will automatically turn on, and you will see the wifi and memory stick light up for a few seconds. once they're done blinking, plug in the charger, and press x.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

omg thanks for your reply. just some other quick questions.

what do you mean by depending on which memory stick you created, because im using a slim, and if there is one with a menu, then i'd like to do that one instead of a blind install.

and this is a little off of that topic, can i still reformat the ms i modified and use it to store games?

THANKS AGAIN!!

yeah, you can reuse the memory stick after the fact if you dont want to use it as a Majic Memory stick after you downgrade, i've converted a memory stick, and a battery back and forth 3x succesfully.....just make sure you switch the Pandoras Battery back to a normal one before you re-format the memorystick, because you need the files on the memory stick to convert the battery back to normal....

also i was nervous about doing the blind install, but it's really no big deal, and it's really fast, my PSP Slim only took like 10 secounds---

thanks for the reassurement it really helps. u know the feeling when u might create a brick. It happens when ur modding anything.

one more quick quesiton im runnign firmware 3.6 anything i need to extra in this case? i read something about extending the pandora memory stick kernel by placing both the 3.5 and 3.4 updates. Im confused on this, or do i just use the Pandora's box.exe ?

oh and altus, for ur blind install, just press X right?

Thanks again guys ur great

I downgraded my slim w/ a PSP Phat, heres how i did it, it was VERY VERY SIMPLE....if you follow these two guides STEP by STEP, it will work and you could be running custom firmware on your SLIM in about 30 Minutes......check them out and let me know what you think

First do this
http://my.afterdawn.com/larrylje_redwings/blog_entry.cfm/2316

Secound do this
http://www.pspbrew.com/forum/viewtopic.p...144d66e17e6d5b5

Follow those two guides in that order will only take you about 15-20 Minutes to make a "Majic Memory Stick" and "Pandoras Battery" capable of putting Custom Firmware on your SLIM

****EDIT Well im out for the nite, but that will do it really simple, let me know if you decided to do it or not *****

Thanks again

I'd do it on the PSP, thats how i did it....yeah there not together, but they work together one makes the origonal "majic stick" and battery and the other mods "the stick" making it compatiable w/ the SLIM

just follow them step by step
