No video with component cables

We just got a new vizio lcd.. i got component cables to hook up our dvd/vcr to it.. i connected the component video and the audio with av cables.. when i go to the component input on the tv i can hear the dvd but get no picture and it says no signal.. any ideas??

humm make sure you have the right video input set with the remote video 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8 etc try them all. mines video 7 on both my Sony sets

not sure what that means.. but it has av 1 av2 component 1 and component 2... the dvd player works when hooked up to either av, but on neither of the component ports.

Thread can be closed.. found a special menu on the dvd player to chagne to component input.. needed to have no dvd in to get to menu
