I'm not sure where to post this question so i chose the shrink forum but anyway my question is.....What do i select when i open dvdfab to copy a full disc including the extras and trailers and all?....I'm thinking i click on full disc but not too sure is this correct? I never made a backup copy of a full disc...i only made them for the main movie

Hi...I tried to rip my dvd using DVDFab Decrypter, process my files with FixVTS; but when I tried to shrink with DVDShrink the following message pop up:
DVDSrink encountered an error & cannot continue.
Failed to read file "C:\DVDs Ripped\Full Disc\DiscA\VIDEO_TS\VTS_02_0.VOB"
Invalid access to memory location.
My previous ripping with RipIt4Me was not successful, could anyone suggest what I should do?

Hi...If ripped DVD requires no compression, there's absolutely no reason to involve DVD Shrink...can I just burn it?

Why should i update to a newer version and why does it have to be a beta version? Is beta the only version they have now?

no, updates are released frequently, the updates within the last Beta or few will end up in the next final release; but as i say the program is updated often, so just keep looking for updates every few days, or whenever you want

Hi, the newest version always is up to date with the latest encryptions and although it is a beta it is still useful. You can wait till the more stable version comes out, but how long you will have to wait, no one knows, and you may miss out on backing up for a while.

A CRC error typically means the disc cannot be read due to dirt, smudges or scratches on the disc or possibly a bad disc from the manufacturer. More recently newer copy protection has given this same error. It is suggested to work from your HDD with files already ripped with DVDFab HD Decrypter, if you still get the error you may need to clean up your files with VobBlanker or FixVTS.

Don't try and use DVD Shrink to rip and encode at the same time...rip your movie to your HDD first using DVDFab and then open the resultant file with DVD Shrink.

1. Go to http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm and get the latest version of DVDFab HD Decrypter. This was suggested earlier, but we don't know if you've done it or not.
2. Rip your disc to your HDD with DVDFab HD Decrypter. If you are unable to rip the disc with the latest version of DVDFab, then you have a bad disc. Return for exchange.
3. Open the VIDEO_TS folder created by DVDFab HD Decrypter in DVD Shrink via the Open Files radio button.
4. Remove all audio except AC3 5.1 english and all subtitles you don't want/need.
5. Click backup
6. Select ISO image file and then OK and wait for DVD Shrink to create the ISO file.
7. Open Imgburn in write mode and browse to your new ISO image and burn it to disc.
The third post in this thread offered guides with pictures if you would like to refer to them.
