as the title says, how can i have two firmwares? i'd like the latest firmware and my oe firmware. is this possible? i dont see why not.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Impossible.
It would require some sort of devhook for that.
If you want CFW and the latest OFW together, then upgrade to 3.52M33-4 then 3.71M33-3 then 3.72HX-1(not recommended).

Not neccesairily impossible... You can do the following:

Go to 2.71 HEN-D/2.71 SE-C and run Devhook. It's custom firmware with emulation.

You can get the UPMS and make a pandora and then you can boot to a 1.50 firmware temporarily and when you turn off your psp you're back to your CFW.

Get the mod chip that lets you have two different firmwares while holding L-Trigger while booting.

However... all three of them aren't easy so as of yet you cannot run two firmwares on a unmod chipped psp.

True...
Just out of interest, why would you want two firmwares?

Well he said one official and one on OE. So I imagine he wants one to play all these games that are coming out on UMD. But even the UPMS is probly not ur best option... it's the easiest, but i would go with the mod chip.

i might consider the chip because i need to open my psp to relace to housing with a crystal one anyways. so do the 3.71 and 3.72 custom firmwares allow umd or emulators? and do they offer ps3 compatability? cuz i want my homebrew but i want my ps3 connectivity. couldnt you, in theory, place an os on the memory stick and boot from the stick? then you can have one embedded firmware and one on the stick.

you can have the ps3 connectivity and still have custom firmware. remote play still works, you just have to do a little work to make it work. you can find it HERE

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

This theory would be pretty cool to have. It's exactly devhook but one that runs on newer firmwares that is update. I'm almost positive it can be done... I wonder if booster might consider doing this, it's been a while since a devhook release.

the thing is, pandoras boots from the stick. this shouldnt be too hard. i bet pandoras has been around a long time, bu they made bank off hombrewing and/or unbricking. i bet there is dual firmware too. but i bet the people with it made it and dont care to release it for the fact that they made it and are elitest.
