Encode mp3 with Dolby Pro Logic II?

Now that there is a software encoder to make a surround sound matrix in a standard stereo stream, I ahve a question. Will we be able to encode Dolby Pro Logic II into a stereo stream, such as mp3? Because I hate to make 2 CD backups of my DVDs, and if I could encode my AC3 into a stereo mp3 with Dolby Pro Logic II, I would have the best of both worlds: A 1 CD solution that has maximum video quality and 'almost perfect' surround sound. Has anyone even attempted this, or would know how to attempt it? I know 'this' tool isn't quite yet available, but are their other tools available that may make this process work?
