Will this NTSC J(japan) game work on my modded PAL ps2?

So I was wondering if NTSC or NTSC J games would work on my modded PAL PS2 since it's modded I thought maybe it would work. But I haven't tryed so I wanna ask if someone can help me with this. Also if It's not possible how am I gonna get an NTSC or NTSC J game to work on my PS2 then? Is there a special methode for that or something? I would really appreciate your help.

oh and btw forgot to tell this, my PS2 is modded with a modchip. So no Swapmagic. Just a modchip.

It should work. Swap Magic allows you to play imports and backed up games. Mod-chips be able to too since the process of getting a import game to work on a PS2 is the same method used to get a copy to work, at least from what I recall. I don't remember clearly enough to say exactly.

Although I do have to warn you, you do run the risk of having the game display improperly. There have been numerous threads of people asking why is the screen slanted, tilted or even a black bar. There have been known issues with playing NTSC and NTSC-J games on a PAL PS2 and PAL games on a NTSC and NTSC-J PS2. Each game has different results though. So sometimes you might encounter it or not, depends on the game really.
