Ok I traded off my slim ps2 for a version 5 or 6 fatty system. I have installed the HDD successfully and loaded my games onto it. Only problem is the ONLY way I can get it to load games is to put in my swap magic 3.8 coder cd then swap it out for a hd loader cd. I tried using many, many different memory card exploits. I get as far as installing it on the hard drive but when I put the original PS1 disk in it just loads the game and not the exploit. I have to be doing something wrong. I have an 8MB Madcatz memory card but it has the playstation logo on it. I know this memory card came out before the official yellow and black playstation2 cards because we bought our first ps2 the first week it was released and this was the only memory card on the market at the time. Anyway I was wondering if maybe someone who has gotten the exploit to work could make me a cd image that would load any of the games I own. Here is a list of what i have and the title numbers.

Parappa the Rapper- SCUS_941.83
South Park- SLUS_009.36
WWF Smackdown- SLUS_009.27
WWF Smackdown2- SLUS_012.34
Crash Bandicoot 2- SCUS_941.54
Rugrats- SLUS_006.54
Wheel of Fortune- SLUS_006.83
Reel Fishing- SLUS_004.40
Gran Turismo 2 (sim disk)- SCUS_944.88
Madden 97- SLUS_000.18
Tekken 3- SLUS_004.02
Army Men Sarge's Heroes- SLUS_009.14

I'm not sure what files I need but what I want to be able to do is put in a normal PS1 disk bypass having to swap disks and just load my games directly from the Hard drive.

did you uncrush the system file in ARMAX? because the system file won't show up in the ps2 browser until it's uncrushed.

Yeah I uncrushed it to memory card it shows up as system data. Also I tried to edit but the button is no longer there (luckily noone has sent anything!). Even after uncrushing to memory card I stick in my game and it just loads normally. I also tried using independence installer and it tells me installation was successful but same thing no matter what game I put in it just loads.

ok wow I finally got this to work after making 2 more coasters. I'm not going to be like everyone else that has solved there own problem I am going to leave my answer in case someone reads this and is having the same exact problem. I opened up the independence installer. I added all the title codes to every ps1 game I have. I used their launcher and just added the HDA.elf. I saved it as an .xps file. I then opened up ps2 save builder and saved it as a .max file. I then used my AR Max disk clicked on the memory cards. I deleted my system configuration file on the memory card. I then pressed triangle to go back. Then I clicked on the USB drive I waited for the .max to load then i clicked it and uncrushed to mc1. I rebooted with crash bandicoot 2 in my ps2 it went white for a second then I was at a white screen with a o and a config I pressed square on the 0 then square on mc0:// then pressed square again on boot cofiguration then square on HDA.elf. I can now boot my hard drive off the ps1 game :D. I guess I can now put my system back together. I hated having to do all that swapping expecially when I wanted to switch games.
