Is there any new technology for PS2 external chip..??? Because I rather not to open my PS2 to install any chip (if there is no other way).
All the posted messages in the forums are most of them old (2003-2004)
Any suggestion accepted.

Well you could always go with SwapMagic or the independence exploit (if you have a big original ps2).
There was some talk about a plug n play mod for ps2 (memory card based) called VAST, but I haven't heard much about it since...
