First off, if this question has been answered in the tutorial thread, it was not before the fifteenth page, and having been searching for the answer during every non working hour for a good week, I lost interest somewhat in reading 85 pages of posts.

I'm trying to install YDL currently on my PS3. I have otheros.self and otheros.bld in their correct folder on a usb harddrive that I formatted to FAT32 from NTSF. I have partitioned my PS3 and installed the otheros files. I burned YDL at the lowest possible speed to a quality dvr, and attempted to install it. I get so far as the install trying to run from kboot automatically, but all it does is spit out gibberish about i/o errors, and the last line says "linux-ps3: input/output error," and I'm given a kboot prompt again.

I've read that the speed at which you burn the iso makes a difference, but I selected the lowest possible speed to avoid this. I also read that the otheros.self file has been replaced for firmware update 2.0, but I don't recall with what it was said the file was replaced, and was unable to find where I read that.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Rather, my question is what the heezy is making this such a difficult process for me, and am I the only one with this problem?
