My brother has this ROME DVD collection, FIRST SEASON. They are new. When we tried to play the disk #3 (chapters 06-07) in his PC or mine, IT DOES NOT PLAY (while all others do play). A funny sign shows up with the following message:
"Assertion failed!(A.F.)
Program C: x\y\z...etc. \VideoLAN\VLC0.8.6a\mlc.exe
File: vm.c
line: 1503
Expression: 0
For finding how your program can cause an A.F., see the visual C++ documentation on asserts.
Press retry to debug the application; JIT must be enable.
Well, when you press "Retry" a new window/sing shows up; ...
VLC has found a problem and must close (yeah the famous windows failure sign).
Now this disks are NEW; ...and I thought for a while that something war wrong with that particular disk. Well, I barrowed another one from a friend. EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM, WITH EXACTLY THE SAME DISK, ..... ALTHOUGH, both play fine in a DVD player.
I tried to see if I shrink the disk with DVD shrink it will play, .... IT DOES NOT EITHER. Does not matter if first I ripped it with "DVD Decrypter" or "RipIt4Me" .... and even I used this little program call something like "FIXVTS" or something like that. IT DIDN'T HELP.
Seems to me that is a new kind of anticopy protection program or something similar. The funny thing is that, ... even if you do not intend to copy, .... still you cann't see the movie either in Windows Media Player or in VLC Media Player.
I'll be grateful for any suggestions to solve this problem.
