Hey
I just got a samsung dh-162c and have been trying to back-up my 360 games with no luck. I of course have a flashed 360, and have been using Xbox Backup Creator and CloneCD, as well as ImgBurn. The game apparently copies with any problems, and in CloneCD a layer break is registered, i also followed the tut on this site about using ImgBurn to burn, and inputting the layer break manually, but no luck. Unlike previous attempts I tried using WxRipper method, these games actually appear to start as the screen goes black for about 5-10 seconds, then a message telling me the disc is unrecognisable comes up. Am I doing something wrong, I have tried many different tutorials exactly and all get same result. I have heard you can use DVD Decrypter and use notepad for the layer break and other things maybe? I'm not sure, somebody please help.
P.S-I am using Verbatim DVDR+DL and i have read that they are fine, my burner is Pioneer 212D, I have also heard this is fine.

THANKS HEAPS

Sounds like youve got some bad luck. Do original games play ok on the box? It should take around 10min to rip the games and about 40 min burn the games. Might try sticking in a 0800 disk to kind of reset the drive. Had to do it to mine once after messing with it. Also try sticking in a regular dvd move just for kicks. See what loads and what dont.

If it is ripping it without getting any error message then the Samsung drive should be ok. In is your XBC the leatest version?
Some things you can check:
1. when you put in the disc and let it be recognized, then start XBC 2.6 and go to the tools tab, click unlock drive. Now go to the read tab and start to rip.
2. also make sure the setting on the read is for full disc and not current partition
3. Make sure it is not using splitvid mode as well

Another option is to try ripping it with Shctrom 3.3 instead of XBC

You can also make sure you have the latest firmwar on your Pioneer burner which i beleive is 1.22

also is the verbatim discs are a 6X max speed you can try burning them at 4X with IMGburn

If you are not already doing it you should booktype the DVD+R DL discs so they burn as DVD-ROM

Thanks for your replys
I will test out the mentioned adjustments and see if they work
One thing thoughh...I tried changing the booktype before using DVDInfoPro and it said that Pioneer does not support it. I also have been using full disc read setting, but didnt know about unlock drive. I will see if Schtrom works as well
THANKS AGAIN

are you 100% sure that it is flashed correctly? Really you should not be having this many problems just backing up the games and getting them to play. Do you know nyone else with a flshed system that you can test the games on theirs to see if in fact it is the games?

Thanks again
Yes I gave my games that have not worked to a friend who said the same thing happened on his system, i also tried one of his games in my machine and it worked. He showed me the method he uses, which uses DVD Decrypter, however, when I tried to do this, decrypter kept telling me that it could not find the file (small .dvd file). it is clearly there and Imgburn and CloneCD found it. Could this be linked to the problem?
Thanks
