Im trying to burn stuff buy my the laptop just slow now. I suspect its the PIO and DMA mode but the problem is on laptops this IDE setting must be named diffrently because i cant figure out which drive the dvd drive is running off of.

just uninstall the IDE controllers in device mamnger reboot and they will reinstall . then you should be back in DMA mode or heres a guide
