I'm having a problem with my swap magic 3.6

All the games I play seem to be having a problem with screen size where it's too big for the T.V

and on my other ps2 it won't even boot swap magic!

What region game are you trying to play?

that really only happens on PAL games. the only way to really fix this is if the game has that "calibrate screen" or try it on a newer tv. i have an "older" type tv in my room but on the plasma tv in the living room works fine with PAL games. im not sure whether its the fact its a newer type of tv or the certain model of tv it is. if any1 could clear this up it would be nice

thx

what about the fact that swap magic 3.6 works on another ps2 but not mine?

I get a disc read error, Funny thing is that I NEVER get disc read errors,for none of the games or dvd's I have I don't get it..just swap magic has it.

@DDRgod922
There are TV's that accept both NTSC signals and PAL signals (newer ones usually) so that is probably why your plasma plays PAL games but your old TV doesn't. If you want to play a PAL game on your old TV you might should try usingPAL2NTSC
I've had very good results using it.

@elenter
That's pretty strange. Could you give me some more info about your ps2?
Like what version ps2 you have.
Have you ever taken apart your ps2?

The PS2 it won't work is a SCPH39001 (Version 7) and the one that it works on is either a 4,5 or 7. Have to go to friends house to check.

I only opened it once (To try the flip top cover on it) but it didn't read the swap magic DVD Or the CD.

Oh I also open it once in a while to spray it out with an air can but that's it.

Like said though I've never encountered a DRE with any of my games,movies or anything. Only this disc wich seems to work on everyone elses.

Not sure what it could be.

Fixed it,adjusted the white gear in side 1 notch down and problem fixed!

Btw is the swap magic supposed to make a few funny reading sounds?

I don't think it should make any noises. Though when I had a my v4 it also made noises when reading the swapdisc. The only thing bad that happened was that sometimes games would be super slow.

all the games run fine and don't make any noises it's just that when it first boots up it makes a few funny reading noises. Shouldnt I be worried about this?

Check the bottom of the swapdisc and see if there are any scratches that are caused during boot up. Could be angle at which you adjusted the laser with the white cog. Though it is strange that it only happens during boot up and not during game play.
