Wiimote Sound Issue

I recently had my wii installed with a wiikey. Burned games work fine execpt that my wiimote sputters out sounds and often makes no noise at all, even for original games like wii sports. This isn't the end of the world, but does anyone have any thoughts on why? Is one of the solder points responsible for wiimote noises? Also, is there a way to see what version I have flashed on my wiikey?

Did you tried adjusting the volume on the Wiimote settings?

If you bought the Wiikey recently and it's genuine, then I think it is 1.9. Not sure though, so it's best to update to the newest one which is 1.9g to enable playing SMG.
