I've been banging my head against the wall with this one for awhile and I'm sure someone in here can help me. I have an older (fat style) ps2, that has no mod chips or anything installed. However, I did a softmod with the Independence Exploit with a Codebreakers CD (http://www.exploitstation.com/articles/codebreaker_exploit.php --> this was the tutorial I followed exactly) and I have a working version of the Independence Exploit. At the bottom of this page are some .ELF files that I wish to use. Namely, I want to use the HDLoader, as I have a network/modem/hdd adapter and a spare hard drive. I re-loaded the exploit onto my mem. card and booted everything up. I was able to go into the HDLoader ELF and it prompted me to format the drive. I did so. I then copied a game over to it (retail game). The game copied to the hard drive fine. The hard drive registered as its proper size and the size of the game was its proper size. When the game was copied to the hard drive, I clicked "PLAY" and it worked fine. I then shut off the PS2 and restarted it, but now it is not working? When it boots into the Independence Exploit, at the top and bottom it gives me errors. At the top it says "hdd0:PP.HDL.xxx [0 MB free] ... Copy from pfs0:\ " and at the bottom it says "ERROR: failed to mount filesystem: hdd0:PP:HDL.xxx..." where xxx in both cases is the name of the game I copied. What exactly am I doing wrong? If it worked once, I would think that it would, or rather, SHOULD work again? The only ELF's I have on the memory card at the time are (from the exploitstation's site) PS2Media, CSL(CogSwap), and HDLOADER. Do I need others like BootELF or uLaunch.ELF or something? Like I said, the Exploit works fine as long as the hard drive is not plugged in; however, as long as I have 60GB to use and games load significantly faster from the HD than disks, I'd really like to get this working? Does anyone have any better ideas. Please keep in mind that this is all completely new to me and the only reason I figured it out is because I spent an entire day with that step-by-step tutorial on exploitstation. Thanks a lot everyone for your help I REALLY appreciate it. Thanks
