ok i ve updated my wiikey for a long time, its probably version 1.0 or 1.1, when i inserted metaroid prime 3 today, it said something about an update, not wanting to risk anything as i was afraid i might get bricked, i decided to put it on hold and come here and ask... is it ok to go ahead with the update? my wii is nstc-U

also, if i want to update my wiikey to the latest 1.3 how do i do it? i ve read threads saying download 1.9b and 1.3, i can patch the 1.9b file to 1.5gb, how bout the 1.3? can i just go straight with 1.9b without having to use 1.3?

can anyone provide a link for a step by step guide on how to update to 1.3? thanks

go ahead and update the Metroid prime given that its the same region as your console (NTSC - US)-(JAP - JAP)-(PAL - UK) its not a system update its simply the files it needs to upgrade to play

update your wikey with the 1.9 already some can just burn it while others need to create the 1.37gb file to get it to run its half an half personaly it only worked on mine when I did expand it.

the 1.3 is not an update it's simply just a boot idisc being when the wii updated the system to 3.0 the 1.2 disc no longer worked both thes files should be expanded in effort to run on the wii in most cases this is how you do it.

(XboXGuru posted the following earlier in a diff thread)

1. Download the 1.9b update and 1.3 config files from wiikey.cn
2. Extract into separate folders.
3. Copy filechop.exe from the 1.3 config extraction into the 1.9b update folder.
4. Go to your command prompt and navigate to the 1.9b folder.
5. run filechop.exe wkupdate.1.9b.xx.iso 1459978240 (where xx is either PAL, JAP or US.
6. do the same with the 1.3 config file - filechop.exe bootdisc.xx.iso 1459978240.
7. Burn image(s) onto DVD-R.
