Player burned PSX and PS2 games (including those that are JP). I would also like to know if it's possible to get an Action Replay backup (if there's such a thing?) running using a modchip. I have a slim PS2, but I have heard using modchips ruins the laser in like an hour. Some websites sell laser fixes, but I don't know how reliable those are. I'm not interested in getting an external hard drive or anything, I just want to run backups without using a flip top and swap magic. I have heard of about four different chips, but I really want to know which one is the most popular and has the most features. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.

Crystal Chip 2.0 is a good chip.

Could you please be a bit more specific and tell me if can do the things I'm asking for and how it compares to other chips?

Then again... the Duo3 is the best basic modchip and will do all the things you wrote here.

I agree Duo3 is a good basic chip and will cover all of your needs, if you can get your hands on a Matrix Infinity or a Crystal Chip 2 I'd recommend one of those. I myself have a slim PSTwo with a Matrix Infinity.
