I used vso divxtovideo for a movie file and it turned it into a video- ts bup file along with a bunch of other similar files and does imgburn sound like the program to burn this to a disc? When I tried to use imgburn I wasn't sure how to use it and dvdshrink keeps telling me there's an error . I have these video files that I tried using ashampoo burning studio 7 to burn with also and was told I need a converter of some kind for avi files and is there a good program to use ?

You used DivXToDVD and got a VIDEO_TS folder full of files...... well that means you have a DVD ready to be burned! Just open up ImgBurn, hit MODE/BUILD, in the DESTINATION pick your burner, at SOURCE hit the little folder and add the VIDEO_TS folder to it. Go to DEVICE and set your SETTINGS to write speed and copies (1). Add media to the burner and hit the folder and the disk button on the bottom to write!

I have burned a VIDEO- TS file for sure but I'm having a problem with IMGBURN. Everything seems to be going OK until I come to clicking on the big calculator to figure out the size of the file and it freezes at 41% . From what its telling me it looks like I have enough room to burn to a DVD+R 4.7 GB disc so could it possibly be something wrong with my system? Anyone have this problem also because I feel like I'm getting closer to burning these files ?

there it is.. No need to hit "calculate" with a convertx set of files as there is only enough for a single layer.
The calculate function tries to work out the best place for the layer break, and hangs like this if there isn't enough data for a d/l disk.

Dont know why you are having problems with imageburn
alternatively, you can use folder2iso to create an image from the TS folder
Or just use clonedvd to burn the folder direct

Maybe the reason I'm having such a hard time with with IMGBURN is because the average user of this web site is just so much smarter than I am or can figure out something about the program that I can't . So far I have burned 1 movie file successfully to a DVD+R disc using IMGBURN and my aim is to burn a bunch of others. I appreciate any intelligent response I receive . I will try out these other programs and see how they work out .

I have finally been successful in using IMGBURN to burn movie files onto discs and would like to thank the staff and other members for there help in replying to my threads . Now if I can just find a way to add different language subtitles that would be cool and anybody know of a good program to use for this?

When you have a dvix movie with subs, you will normally have a separate rar file that contains the subs file, nornally a srt file
When you drop the avi into convertXtodvd, just drop the srt file in there also, and they will be hardcoded into the DVD image
Alternatively, when just burning them as data, you also just drop the subs file in (I use nero for this, nice and simple)
I just bought one of these babies, and what a peice of kit it is for the money, even though they just put the price up (i paid £55)
