Problem with Rogue Galaxy

I am trying to use Action Replay Max codes with Rogue Galaxy. I've got the codes and the game enters into the normal boot up as it always does with the Action Replay Max but the codes don't work in the game. I was told their is only version of the game and that the codes should work. ANyone else having this issue? Any advice/insights that can be offered?
