Hi All,
Console is chipped with d2c modchip, blamk media panasonicdvd-r.
Having just bought the console for my daughter for christmas, i had it chipped with the d2c chip which is the correct one for my serial no. The installer ran some backups on it to test and he said it worked fine. Once home, i decided to test this myself, using the original disc of wii sports that i got with the system, i ripped the disc using rawdump and then burned the disc using image burn. To cut a long story short, i burnt five seperate copies of the game each on different speeds, the last two disc where burnt at 2x. Problem is i just cannot get any of them to work, sometimes they don't boot up at all and i get an 'error please power off and consult your wii manual' or other times it will boot up on the first screen with the name of the game in the box top left, it allows me onto the next screen were i click on start and then it comes onto the screen about securing the remote properly and then from there it just hangs. I've never had any of the backups working fully and i'm just about ready to give up, i've been on this for over a week now and am getting pretty fed up with it all. I just want everything perfect for my little one on christmas day, any help would be much appreciated.
Please Please Please help.
when you ripped the games with rawdump, are you using one of the LG drives? because you must use them to rip the disc.

as for the media, go for verbatim, taiyo yuden, or sony, and burn at 2x with imgburn.
Hi, thanks for the replies
I'm using LG 8161b to read the original which works great, i have read a lot in other forums about having the right blank media as being crucial to successful backups, so i will buy some verbatim -r and see if that works. i forgot to mention also, i did also download an iso which burned successfully but again did not play on the console. Hopefully it's down to the type of blank media that i'm using, but if i still have the same problem with verbatim discs then i don't really know were to go next with this.
