DVD drive wont stay closed

Hi all.

Just got a mates console to do the softmod on it & the DVD drive is being stuppid.

It needs to be closed 3 - 4 times before it will actually "stay closed"

BUT sometimes with a game in it, it stays closed & starts game straight away.

Any ideas ??

or is the drive about to die totally ??

Could be a few things...

The track alignment could be out? Dismantle and then reassemble.

The buttons controller on the front of the case could be playing up.

You may also have corrosion on the traces that run the front of the board!

See what happens with a different DVD drive installed...
