i now know what an .rar file is, but how do i get the damn thing open?.....i understood that i need winrar or winace, but where do i get them? or am I way off?
please help

Most file-compressors support RAR-format and ya just have to get one of them and open it with it...
To open RAR I would recommend 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) which is free,non-bloated and also supports the 7-zip format which has the highest ratio and compresses much better than RAR.. ;)
