Hi everyone:

I'm stumped flashing TS-H943 Toshiba Samsung DVD Drive. Here's what I did. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

(1) I followed step-by-step instructions from the "Xbox 360 Mod/Hack FAQ" sticky thread above (the link to PDF doc, "Hacking XBox 360 for Noobs", or http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/get=61/mirror=123.html );

(2) It refers to TS-H943A drive, when mine says TS-H943. I don't know if it matters much.

(3) My PC does not have any SATA connectors but my friends' new Dell Optiplex 745 does. I was using his. It has the Intel® Q965 (ICH8) Express Chipset (according to this page: http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/pro...45techspecs.pdf ). That Dell Optiplex turned out to be quite a bitch. Its BIOS sucks! First, I was not able to boot from the USB drive/jump stick, whatever I tried (setting SATA compatibility to Legacy, etc.) Eventually I had to resort to booting from a floppy. Second thing that was on the way is that my friend has a RAID card set up as well (for some reason), which he uses for RAID1 configuration. I had to remove it from the motherboard (after I made a floppy with iPrep and powered down PC), but still it did not help. The strange thing is that when I loaded up iPrep (in Windows XP with his RAID card on -- that's the only way how I could boot up windows), it did not show anything in the drop-down list when I clicked "Custom serial ATA", so I had to click "List IDE Based controllers" to make the list filled out with something. I don't know if it makes any differemce.

(4) Also the PDF tutorial instructs to download "ixtrem12.bin" file from the Xbins, when the only ones available are files "ix-13A.bin", "ix-13B.bin", "ix-13C.bin", "ix-13D.bin" in 2x, 5x, 8x, 12x directories in the "Samsung iXtreme 1.3" in the "iXtreme_Samsung_v1.3_updated_firmtool.rar" archive. It was kinda confusing to choose the one to use. I picked "ix-13A.bin" from 12x. Can someone explain what all those files mean?

(5) Then I disconnected SATA cable on the XBOX DVD drive, plugged in its video cable and powered it on. I then did the same with PC and booted it up from a floppy. When I saw DOS prompt I plugged the SATA cable from PC into DVD on the XBOX and ran the following in PC

idump [SERIAL-7] [SERIAL-5]

As the result it showed that no devices were found and stopped.

What am I doing wrong?
Thank you in advance...
