I recieved my Wiikey last week - original wiikey with Holigram. Not a clone. I've had it profesionally installed. It doesnt read any backups or Wiikkey setup disks. I've tried about 15 different setup disks burnt on several different media (including verbatim), at 2x on 4 different drives. I've had the wiikey solder install checked over with a multi meter and it reads fine.

Looks to me the chip is bad???
Any other suggestions?

I should clarify its an original Wii with the GC2-D2C board. The drive pins are not cut.

Originals work, just no backups or setup disks.

weird.. never seen an install like that.. id take it apart and just use the wires... even adding more solder to the points will help..

maybe 2 are touching?

add more solder to the white and green wire.. looks like theres not enough on it.

The WiiKey doesn't work with the D2C chipset.

You'd need the D2CKey:
http://www.d2ckey.com/

If you mis-stated the chip, then I had problem with D2B and WiiKey where installing the chip in that location gave me a non-working WiiKey. I had to switch to a long-wire install.
