Hey everyone, I just got my psp on friday so I'm still very very new to the whole psp thing. I've already been through 3 psps since friday, a 1.52 (which i unwittingly upgraded to a 3.72), a 3.51, and finally a 3.4 (which i now currently have at a 1.5). Since friday I have done nothing but read up on all this stuff and I'm still a little confused about the whole custom firmware thing. I keep seeing alot of posts about emulators on the psp, which is one of the reasons i bought one in the first place, yet i can't seem to get them working at all. So I have a couple of questions about upgrading to custom firmwares if you guys wouldn't mind helping out a super noob...
Ok, again I have a 1.5 firmware on my psp which from what I've read is just what I want to be at. I had to downgrade it using Lumines so I have a TON of files on my card and I'm not sure if I need them. Right now in my GAME folder, I have
"SystemParam"
"Polyphonic sample by Shine"
"lplDumper"
"Kernel Dumper Sample"
"NanDumper"
"Cube Sample"
"PSP Network Config Backup"
"PSP Update ver X.YZ" I assume all these I only needed for the 3.5 downgrade, but I'd just rather be safe then sorry. Will I need these files again or is it safe to just go ahead and clear them off my memstick?
Now as for the custom firmware, what I would like to be able to do is play emulators (NES, SNES, GENESIS, N64, GB/GBC, GBA), PSX Eboots, and still be able to play up to date PSP UMDs. Right now the only game I have is Silent Hill Origins which requires a 3.51 update. I've been reading about the custom firmware 3.51 m33, is this a good one to use for what I'm trying to do? I also read about a new 3.71 m33, but I also saw that it doesn't support psx games.
Of the two emulators I've used on my 1.5 firmware, my GBA and SNES emulators lagged HORRIBLY. I keep seeing something about how it has to run in 333 mhz, but I have no idea how to set that. How would I go about doing this?
Basically I'm just trying to be as careful as possible. I'm already on my 3rd PSP and it's only been about 5 days. I just don't want to be stuck with a firmware I'll regret having upgraded to. What's everyone's advice/reccomendation?

u can delete those files.best format ur mem stick.u re on 1.5 n i suggest u go to 3.71M33-3.it has the most compatibilities at the moment.use the guide on my sig...

i upgraded to 3.52 m33 since i had to upgrade to that before 3.71 m33 and you're right, i don't see any reason why i would want to downgrade. it's freaking amazing! thank you so much for the help. i'm so happy with my psp now. THIS is what i wanted a psp for in the first place. thanks so much for the help.
