Hi katz30
I think the terms better or easier to use are mutually exclusive. Better programs are not necessarily easy and easy programs are not always better. I have worked with a older version of record now that come with my HP burner. It was easy to use but difficult to create non simple burns. Nero on the other hand has great flexiblity to adapt to individual requirements but could be overwhelming to setup ( Mind you Nero Express or the new Nero Start Smart assists in simplifying the process)
In summary both programs can do the job of burning. The question is which one fits your requirement needs best.

chthomson......a good answer.......my useage is the opposite I found Recnow very easy and simple to use and no issues with player compatibility regarding dvd burns....
I started out using Nero 5 and became quite accustomed to it but found the burns were very hit and miss and the compatibility issue with it was a nightmare......all of the options were tested and not any one of them was 100%.....
I then changed to Recnow and have perfect burns everytime and find it less cumbersome to navigate around......
Now I do believe Nero 6 is a lot better than V5, but I still come across users who still encounter the same issues V5 had........
'Granted' I have never used V6 at all so could not really comment on how good it is......
I am still very dubious regarding Nero (but not anti-Nero) because of the constant bug updates that are released........none of this really exists with the Recnow packages (sonic)...
But as chthomson stated, the one that fits your requirements the best and works flawlessly is the one for you......worth just toying around with both of them to see which is more solid and easy to use for you.......

Have a look at http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/recordnowmax.htm
I wrote this guide for the standard max version but it works the same as for the DX version you have......
If you encounter any probs let me know....including specifically what problem you are encountering....

RecordNow is good but Nero v6 is even better.
You can do more in Nero but RecordNow has a better burning engine. Urm, I carn't decide between them so I would just use both :D

Hi Baabaa, Nero can burn to multiple DVD/CD bruners. I don't think RecordNow can do that?
PS, You get lots more with Nero 6 for your money like Vision Express, Recode, Imagedrive and Nero Label maker + lots more. RocordNow max is good but Nero is far better on money.

Nah, Recnow can do just that....did it a week ago with cd's and last night with dvd's ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS...check out http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/58587
Recnow apparently can support upto 64 writers.....
Depends whether you NEED all those bits and bobs....not worth paying money for stuff you don't use.....why not just give the money to me instead..LOL
Also extra stuff on your HD, I keep a clean PC - only have exactly what I need - minimises conflicts........cos I think Nero crawls all over the PC
With Recordnow you don't have to update the bug fixes every week like with Nero because Recordnow programmers get it right the first time....LOL
Anyway just teasing (as you'll be aware..LOL)..
All down to requirements at the end of the day and if it can do what it says on the packet.....and work....laters dude

I have Sonic RecordNow! Deluxe and I have since dispatched Nero and ECDC. Nero doesnt do packet writing (unless you have Incd which is buggy), ECDC does packet writing but also buggy. Sonic does packet writing and fast too. No looking back now.

Just got burner. Have ONLY gotten RecordNow DX to work, have tried Nero 5 (total crap but 6 should be better), Alcohol 120% trial (don't get new trial-wasted Sony DVD+R Ricoh disc). RecordNow DX is 2-of-2: Jap Metal Slug 3 and Kill.Switch both burned perfect, only pressed 3 buttons (TOO easy), about 15-20 min each. awesome
