problems with video files in windows xp!!

I have a bunch of video files in a folder and when I set the view for the folder to thumbnails all my videos files always had a little pic icon of the video file so i could see what the video was and now it doesn't do it anymore when I set the folder to thumbnails the video files do not show a pic of what they are at all does anybody know how to fix this???? I use windows xp!!!thanks
