AVI is a container format not a codec. The Toshiba players support MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 (AVC/H.264, VC-1). I don't think they support divx although their DVD players do.

Isnt MPEG-4 divx/xvid, or am I missing something?

I am going to pick one up regardless (sweet deal with the 10 HD Dvd's), guess divx support is asking to much lol.

Thanks for the response.

Divx is a codec that is based on MPEG-4 but was not voted into the final spec as an officially supported MPEG-4 video codec. AVC (A.K.A H.264) is the official video codec for the MPEG-4 standard.

Other MPEG-4 based (or Compliant) video codecs include VC-1 (A.K.A WMV-9).
