Hey guys, i need a little bit of help here.
My room is 11Lx11Wx8H so i don't need anything powerful or super fancy. I figured 100watts per channel should be more than enough.
I'm planning on purchasing an Onkyo TX-SR705 for my receiver. I will only be connecting it to my tv xbox and hd-sat. I need at least 2 hdmi inputs.

My couple of questions are,
1. Is this a decent receiver.
2. What should i be looking at for speakers.
3. Is there anything that might be slightly better for $700 or less.
4. Curious, can i set up 5.1 on this reciever and later upgrade to 7.1?
5. Also, my Fisher was just 2 subs. They had a 12' speaker a mid and high. Would a 5.1/6.1/7.1 sound the same as far as the bass for music or no?

Also this is replacing my 400watt Fisher setup that finally blew out on me last year. Just never took the time into looking up the info for another one.
Old fisher if anyone wants to see what it looks like.
Clicky

Onkyo im looking at.
Clicky

Thanks in advance

Yes the Onkyo is a decent (not great) entry level receiver. 5.1 is what most people need and can afford. In a tight space 7.1 is hard on the real estate and the speakers greatly add to the cost. Good quality receivers with 7 channel amplification cost $$$ ( sorry but $700 does'nt even come close)

Speakeers check out Definitive Technology (try their Mythos line)

From 5.1 to 7.1 most receivers cannot be changed and what u seek is a new 7.1 receiver
