Dodgy Analogue Stick

Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone might be able to help me out here.

My analogue stick has started playing up big time. It doesn't seem to respond to me pushing it upwards very well at all, it just kind of stutters and moves very slowly. All other directions seem to be ok, but whenever I go up it's like slow motion.

Any suggestions?

you can buy a new analogue off certain sites (cant remember) but you will have to take the faceplate off etc.

Ok, this is going to sound stupid but one of the screws behind the battery just will not come loose. I've got all the others out, but this on won't budge no matter what I try :(

Any advice?

this is a bit harder than the others use a big handle screw driver and use a philips head that pops in don't use to much force. it should loosen.
