Hey guys, I've spent the last 24 hours almost trying to get this thing to work, and no bones so far. I have read all kinds of forums and googled it and everything, but I still get the same error every time. Here is my set up:
I bought a slim PSP in October 2007 and updated to OF 3.71. Then I bought a Pandora's Battery and Magic Stick from Ebay, and installed it yesterday. It installed CF 3.71 M33-2. I then figured out by trial and error how to run iso and cso games, etc. The one thing that is still giving me trouble is running gpsp 0.9. One thing that confused me was the two folders, gpsp and gpsp%. I put them both into the PSP/GAME folder and it showed GPSP and Corrupted Data in my games list on my memory card. I tried to run the GPSP and it tried to start but then said error code 80020148 game could not be started. That was the start of my troubles.
I searched all over on google for help with this. People suggested putting the folders in GAME150 which I did, but to no avail, same problem. They suggested changing the kernel to 1.50 in Recovery Mode which I did, and still same problem. I tried updating to 3.71 M33-3, and same problem. I installed IRShell and it runs, but GPSP still won't. I tried other versions of GPS, like the KAI test 8 one, but to no avail. I am basically at wit's end so I thought an appeal to the 'experts' would be a good idea. I usually like to try to solve problems on my own, but I definately need help with this one.
I also tried formatting my memory stick and re-installing CF 3.71 M33-2, but still nothing has worked, it is always the same error. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I just wanna play my favorite GBA games on my PSP. Thanks in advance!

i dont think gpsp 0.9 will work on a slim, i had the same error code before had to install 1.5 addon-2 n changed the kernal to 1.5 for it to work

my (+[__]%) life

2.81 -> 3.71-> 3.71 m33-2 -> 3.71 m33-3 -> 3.71 m33-4 -> 3.80 m33 -> 3.80 m33-2 -> 3.80 m33-4

saddest (+[__]%) moment

i upgraded to 3.71

Hoip did you use slim or phat? Has anyone gotten gpsp or any gba emulator to work on Slim? Thanks

If I understand correctly the 1.50 add on 2 is only for phat

Well, after long last I finally got it to work. Here is what I did: I reformatted my memory stick (again) and installed uo_gpsp_kai_32_test_07.zip . That is the one that worked for me. Good luck everyone!

i have the fat psp original (not the ta model the one after) and went from official 2.71 patch, downgraded using GTA to 1.5 the installed oe-c firmware and updated all the way to 3.71m33-3. I try changing kernel to 1.5 in recovery when i boot as well as several other options in that menu. None seem to work. I put the folders "example: gpsp and gpsp%" in game150 folder and when i go to run under the memory card i see a corrupt icon and whatever the app is supposed to be. I try to run it and it gives me that 80020148 error. Even happens when i try to play an official UMD game i get that error. I'm probably doing something wrong just not sure what it is.
