I need help getting onto live..the wireless adapter is 75+...thats ridiculous..in my opinion (considering wii has it built in), but is there an alternative.. or a third generation for a cheaper price? or it has to be by Microsoft??

you can look on Xbox.com and look at their wireless device compatibility list. Any ethernet type Xbox Live compatible adapter will work. Personally i bought one from Linksys for my original Xbox (it is not much cheaper at about $80) and it works with pretty much anything that has an ethernet port, including my 360. But for this to be good you should be within 50 feet or less or your router. Anything more then that and you will need something stronger because you will get connection drops when playing online.

Edit: forgot some links

$75 isn't bad ... the USB wifi netgear out in the wild cost around $50, the M$ one is $100, a bridge is around $115+ ... plus you have to know how to setup the bridge ... you could always run a loooooooong cable to your router, if you don't mind the cord on the floor, if its close enough, or if you have the $$ to shell out to someone to install it through the floor for you ... or you could just have nothing at all, an empty, lonely xBox without Live & media Sharing - its up to you - so quit your whining, $75 isn't that bad - it is what it is

You enable ics (internet connection sharing) on the wifi adaptor
You bridge your wireless and the ethernet
You turn off your firewall on the windows computer
connect the xbox to the lan port on the pc
done with no shakiness - google will tell you how to do each of these things, its not hard

blah
