Remote on second console?

Are the remotes set to one particular console?

I have two remotes for my wii. These remotes will not make a connection to a second wii. Do I need to reset them before I can use them on another console and if so how do I reset them.

Both wii's are Japanese and both are 3.1J

open the back of the remote where the batteries are, there is a red button. open your wii where you place your sd card, there is also a red
button. Push them both and it should work.
