I have been going through the posts here and I see there is arguments between these. Well let me tell you my problem, I have been using Kazaa, in my opinion Kazaa is unacceptable, I get fake files and virii all the time, now Im trying to download software from kazaa and I cant even connect to someone. Some time ago I tried emule and I just couldnt figure it out. I couldnt download ANYTHING, I probably wasnt sharing right or something, hence the reason I use Kazaa its super easy to use, but I am really sick of it, what do you think my best option is, I have tried irc also but I cant find many sites to go to and once I get there I dont know how to download anything. IRC seems like it would be the best but I cant get it to work. Please help me out

Well you have to figure them all out for yourself and make your own judgement on them, there is a method for everyone, u have to find whichever one will suit you. I recommend IRC because if you're willing to learn how to use tit then, good luck to you :-) I wish you all the best, if you wilol go back to kazaa, then umm i dunno, i dont like that much lol, kazaa is too easy and lazy in my opinion, now im not calling u lazy but u know what i mean!

OK I am trying the IRC route but I have no idea how to download anything or even what sites to go to, how reliable are IRC downloads?
I have gone to the ad buddies site listed in your signature but no one is there, if there is any way you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated

Hi pooface. The only setback to the irc is first learning how to use it! After you get the hang of it the irc is great... there are no fake files and transfer speeds are about 5 times faster than kazaa. Anyway an excellent irc tutorial that covers how to download files really well can be found at http://www.radixpub.com/tmntfiles/guidetoirc.php

Well not exactly, we have all been stuck on that one bot that just takes its time, bouncing from high to low speed really getting on your nerves, hehe! :D

pooface, i had the same problem. and until dela gets that update out, the guide here in these threads is good for getting the software, but doesn't help in the downloading. so here it goes....it probably sucks and i hope i don't step on any toes..if i do...i'm sure dela or praetor will set me straight.....

go to packetnews.com or ircspy.com and either look at the newest packs or the most popular or do a search....when the lsit comes up you will see a column that says pack# or something like it.....click on the pack number and if you haven't started mIRC already it should start it for you..."should".....once there, get comfy and wait....at some point you will see pack numbers pop up such as:
[tko]-001 #1 <MUSIC> *********
[tko]-001 #2 <MOVIE> *********
and either before or after there should be a message saying that in order to request a pack you mus type...and this i have found to be pretty standard...."/msg", name of person uploading, "xdcc send #", and pack number...for example:

/msg [tko]-001 xdcc send #1

and if you are lucky you'll get a window pop that says if you want to accept....DUH...and if you are NOT lucky, you will be put on a waiting list....some are long, but i have found that a lot of people have the same packs, so it's a matter of looking around.....also if something goes wrong, the problem i had is that my "ignore" setting was at God knows what....i fixed it by going to the options button next to your lightning rod to connect( top left), and going to dcc/ignore, by default you'll have a method already chosen, i put mine to "disable" and unchecked the "turn ignore back on in" box...... i found that the downside to irc is the waiting, but i have used eMULE and Kazaa....eMULe i never figured out...then again, i'm tarded.... and Kazaa has way too many fakes and virii....the waiting with irc is the equivalant of the time wasted with fakes and virii, so.......i hope it helps...i probably sounded tarded but....oh well...i'm just trying to help

Madness, lol, set your client to auto accept or you could be in a 1 hour queue and then miss accepting the file and the bot will close the connection!

They only ask you to register because the program is free and well, registering and paying a bit of money is good support! :-)

acoronado, its quite easy actually. Go to mIRC options and click DCC, then change on send request to Auto-get file and minimise and if file exists - resume!
