how do you get cwcheat to work with irshell?

Im having trouble doing it, when i open the cwcheat menu the game is listed as "homebrew" rather than its name.
I know there is a way through using google, but there is no simple guide that i can find :S

the problem is when i press L + select to change the game id from homebrew to the correct one. The memory stick lights up then the psp powers off after 5-6 seconds
