You will have to search to see if the company of ur dvd drive have any app that will make it faster. As well as updateding all the firmware.

I have a Sony Dru 510a.And Sony made this one app called DSS that will speed up ur drive if it's sony.

So just make sure if those companies have any thing like that.Hopes that helps

My Pioneer 106 was ripping at 8x! but something happened and now its back to 1x grrr. I reinstalled the aspi32 and firmware but its still 1x, anyone know why? I am guessing its another app I installed somewhere.
oh, is there any chance there will be an 8x burner firmware for the 106d?

Im runing Windows Xp Professional Corporate Edition //Up_to_date w/SP1 ect..

I have a Sony Dru-510a //Firmware Upgrade 1.0D. And this one program called DSS (Drive Speed Selector) // Sony software that allows you to optimize the read/write speed of your DRU-510A and DRX-510UL

No hacked or special firmware....DSS mode is set to "OverDrive"

I don't have any version of ASPI installed.

Used "ASPI Installation Verification" and I have no version installed... "ERROR : ASPI is not properly installed"

Im using SPTI.Instead of ASPI

Hi,

This question is for Matador.....i try to use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter and i got a Sony dru-510A and using the Drive Speed Selector (DSS)apps.

The problems is that with DVD Shrink it took me 20 mins to rip a DVD-5 where as if i use DVD Decrypter it only take me 10 mins. Is there a problem using a DVD Shrink with DDS compare to DVD Decryter?????

Cheers :)

Hi this question is for Matador.
I use the same Sony dru-510A with Drive Speed Selector (DSS) as you....have you try to rip it with DVD Shrink, coz it took me 20 mins to rip DVD-5 compared with only 10 mins with DVD Decrypter.

Cheers :)

Are you making a ISO with Decrypter?

DVD Shrink writes its files to a folder were Decrypter writes onto a ISO image.IF on that mode.

IF you were also writing to a folder with Decrypter then I have to say that Decrypter has a better engine core.

I guess that DVD Shrink runs more processes in the background making it take longer. But I can be wrong.

I use Decrypter to make only perfect ISO's.Shrink to shrink and break down a movie.
