Hi, could someone help me, ive been searching for ages to find a tutorial on this but no such luck. the only ones i can find is if i want to change and mod my drive. All i want to do is put a new drive in with my old key from the original drive. I dont want to play backups . What program will do this, can i extract the key from my old drive and put it on the new drive using xtreame firmware toolbox 3.0 or do i need anything else. Any help would be great....

Try this (in a nutshell):
(1) Hook up drive 1 to PC using SATA (read tutorial on modding 360 http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/details/id=61.html );
(2) Make bootable USB jump stick and boot from it;
(3) Make a backup of drive 1 using this command:
MTKFlash r /m /sata orig1.bin
(4) Replace drive 1 with drive 2
(5) Boot from jump stick again and make a backup of drive 2:
MTKFlash r /m /sata orig2.bin
(6) Copy and save both in secure place
(7) Using a copy of orig2.bin patch it with a DVD key from drive 1:
FIRMTOOL orig1.bin orig2.bin
(8) Now flash drive 2:
MTKFlash w /m /sata orig2.bin

It's just a thought. Not sure if it's gonna work. MAKE SURE TO KEEP ORIGINAL orig1.bin and orig2.bin FILES AND DVD KEYS IN CASE SOMETHING DOESN'T WORK RIGHT!

You didn't mention why you were switching drives.

If you're just replacing your ms25 with a new ms25 because the drive no longer reads discs, then just take the board out of your 25 and switch it with the new board.

But to answer your question about programs, yes , Toolbox will let you copy and paste drive keys into firmware. The latest Toolbox is 4.5.

Thanks so much guys for the help, yes bhetrick i just bought a new drive as the old one wouldnt work. At least now due to your help its going to be easier to do. Thanks again guys for your help
