I have a version Xbox 1.0 and just installed a solderless Chameleon Chip successfully (i think), when the xbox started up the clean cromwell bios pops up. Now this is where I get confused, I understand I need to flash it, but I am confused what I should flash it with.

In other words, what do I need on a disc for the flash to occur properly, AND how do I know that it is flashing. I downloaded serveral bioses, (like the EvoX Blue, EvoX V3.6, EvoX v3.6_eject fix, and Evolution X v2.5 256k for Matrix) and Im not really sure if these are good. and if they are What would be the proper proceedure for me to flash my chip using a CD or a DVD. Thanks for any help

If you get the cromwell screen you've done good installing. There are places like http://www.xbox-scene.com that have tutorials, look there for what you need to do next. I bought a programmer that plugs into my parallel port and I can flash before I install. I have flashed my box with the M7 bios, it has support for Eject fix and 137+ gig drives.

I actually have been checking xbox-scene, and went and read many of the tutorials. I have yet found a clear cut way to to burn the bios to a disc. I found that M7 bios, but I dont have a programmer and it would be difficult for me to ftp to the box at the moment, my only option at this point is flashing by a disc.

Now could if I just burn the M7 bios to a dvd or cd and just put in the xbox will anything happen or do I have to do anything to the bios prior to me buring it to the disc?

Also, I know this is a dumb question, but once I get it flashed then I can install the Evolution X dashboard right?

Thanks for the help

Just rename your file to linuxbio.bin and burn it straight to dvd. I did it this way and had no problem. Put the dvd in when prompted and you will be good to go.

rename the M7 bios to linuxbio.bin, burn it to a dvd and thats it. when I burn it do I burn by making an ISO or do I just do a regular burn? also, do I need to put some dummy space on the disc?
thanks

I PUT SOME OTHER FILES ON MY DVD JUST SO I WOULDNT WASTE A DVD ON ONE SMALL FILE. DO NOT MAKE AN ISO. I TRIED DOING THAT SEVERAL TIMES AND IT DID NOT WORK. JUST BURN THE FILE NORMALLY.

Don't make an ISO and don't burn it on a DVD... use a CD-RW, most of the time it works great but you can reuse it (or even use a DVD-/+RW)
