First off, I opologize if I've put this question in the wrong forum. I've looked all over here and other sites for an answer and I just can't seem to find one.

Last week I bought the Philips dvp3140 to play divx/xvid files. So far, everytime I've tried to burn a data dvd it hasn't been able to play the files, but if I burn them to a data cdr, they play fine. I'd really like to use dvd's though.

I've used Nero 8 and Sonic RecordNow Plus, both to no avail.

I'm obviously not setting something correctly and would really appreciate any help. I'm getting tired of wasting discs.
