So here's the quick version of what happened so far.

1. Bought a used v9 ps2. Worked fine, tested everything.
2. Ordered a modchip
3. Got bored waiting for the mod chip and soldered all the points on the board before soldering them to the chip. (Because I didn't have it yet)
4. Before even getting to the board I had a HELL of a time trying to get the fan plug to come out. I've done mods before and never had a fan that suck like this one. In any case, I broke the fan wires and still cannot get the clip off of the motherboard.

Then, started soldering
5. F-ed up on pin 17 lifting it to jump it from a 12v to a 5v doing the romeo mod. The pin snapped off.
7. Un-soldered all the wires, cleaned it up a bit, and put it back together.
8. Unit powers on, when reset is pushed, both lights glow. Tray does not eject.

I guess my question is....will a new motherboard fix all the problems I've mentioned?

PS - Any tips on lifting pin 17 on the romeo mod?
